Finely hand thrown and pierced white majolica (tin-glazed earthenware) studio pottery large covered center bowl marked "Pippo Cetona". Pippo is the name of the potter, Pippo Cicerchia of Laboratoria Ceramiche Pippo (his son Franco now runs the business). Cetona is the name of a town south of Siena.
The large covered bowl measures 14" wide by 7 1/2" high and weighs approximately 8 lbs.
Shipping weight is 14 lbs.
Condition: Excellent. Like new, no damage. Please note there is an irregular place on the lid piercing, as shown. All glazed so it's original to manufacture. Please view the detail photos.
